| HOME Music Index TRANSFORMERS THE MOVIE This is still a new page on this website, in time I will keep adding stuff to it. You can find everything music related to the new live action Transformers movie here. Just like the 1986 movie, there will probably be more music and cd's available than most people know. The soundtrack is composed by Steve Jablonsky. He also wrote the music for the teaser trailer. Check out pictures of the scoring sessions here; http://www.soundtrack.net/features/article/?id=235 ![]() Here is the cover and tracklisting of the song cd. ![]() 1. Linkin Park "What I've Done" 2. Smashing Pumpkins "Doomsday Clock" 3. Disturbed "This Moment" 4. Goo Goo Dolls "Before It's Too Late (Sam and Mikaela's Theme)" 5. The Used "Pretty Handsome Awkward" 6. HIM "Passion's Killing Floor" 7. Taking Back Sunday "What It Feels Like To Be A Ghost?" 8. Styles Of Beyond "Second To None" 9. Armor For Sleep "End Of The World" 10. Idiot Pilot "Retina and the Sky" 11. Julien-K "Technical Difficulties" 12. Mutemath "Transformers Theme" Check out the official website www.transformersalbum.com for more info and soundsamples. It will be released in Japan on the 25th of July The cd made a debut on the Billboard album top 100 at 21...not bad. This was the picture that was online and was thought to be the cover of the cd at first. ![]() The first single was by the Goo goo dolls. Here's the cover; ![]() I have not seen this cd anywhere yet.....but read on... This single was preceded by a promotional version with one track and no artwork. The cover is from Ebay. ![]() ![]() The following is another promo cd, which I do have. This one came from Australia and has one track, but a nice picture sleeve in a flat cd case. ![]() This promo cd is for the album. It has The Linking park, Goo goo dolls and Mutemath tracks. ![]() In December of 2007 the Goo Goo dolls song It's not too late was released on a picture disc single in England. This is a vinyl record which, instead of being black , has a picture on it. The back has a photo of the Goo goo dolls, the front a photo from Optimus Prime. A very nice item, and you can order it very very cheap at HMV.co.uk ![]() ![]() Before any information was available on the song soundtrack, there were rumours that the band Meatbee would be recording a version of the Transformers theme. I got an interesting e-mail about it; www.myspace.com/meatbe / http://www.meatbee.com/ CINEMA ACTIVISM: SPIELBERG REJECTS MEATBEE SO DAMMIT JUST PUT OUR THEME ON > YOUR I-POD AND PLAY IT OVER THE OPENING CREDITS ![]() > In 2004, MEATBEE played an acoustic cover version of the theme song from the cartoon Transformers on 104.7FM. It was just a joke, mostly to keep Dave Kelly amused on his long drive shift > Anyhoo, Triple J played it a couple of times, Transformers geeks seemed to really like it. Then American podcasters started playing it and they laughed a lot at stoopid Aussies who record stoopid songs. YouTube enthusiasts picked it up and have been using the song and cutting it to their own versions of movie trailers in anticipation of the upcoming > Hollywood motion picture. > This year - with the assistance of Vacant Lot Management in Sydney and the Australian Governments Austrade office in Los Angeles - MEATBEE managed to get the track to the ears of the music supervisor on the Transformers movie. He liked it a lot and sent it to the production team including Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg. They liked it too, but they wanted it to be more hard rock like Linkin Park or Metallica. Ben tried to grow his hair long like Kirk, but Charlies hair wont grow at all so he was no chance of becoming Lars. > So MEATBEE went back into the studio and Kate bought a gold lamé jumpsuit just in case there was going to be a trip to the Oscars, or a party hosted by Paris Hilton, but also just so she could wear it around the house whilst vacuuming. Ben bought hot pants, Charlie got a cape and Chris bought a top hat. I digress . > MEATBEE re-recorded a hard rock version of the track at Velvet Sound studios in Sydney over two days in April this year then re-submitted it to Dreamworks for consideration. Unfortunately for us, Dave Jordan emailed us four weeks later and said that although they liked it, Warner Music in the USA had won the rights to the soundtrack, so there was no wiggle room for little old us. We are a little bit sad, but weve packed our Oscars outfits in tissue paper just in case we need them later > So anyway, our version of the theme song is out now! Available at Landspeed Records and Songland. If you wanna hear it on 104, text Transformers to 19901047. Were encouraging all supporters of Aussie music to put it on their iPods and take it into the cinema to listen to while the opening credits roll. The second track on the disc is from our latest EP and we > hope you like it too!!!! Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JAEJgFIXl4c| http://www.meatbee.com/downloads.html These two pictures are from the Korean version of the soundtrack. These always come with a lot more paperwork and look cool. ![]() ![]() Pics are stolen from Ebay, but from a cd I won, the contents are exactly the same as the normal version, except for an extra luric sheet and obi sheet. SCORE CD ![]() A long time after the release of the movie the actual movie score by Steve Jablonsky has been released on the 9th of October. Tracklisting; 1. Autobots 2. Decepticons 3. All Spark 4. Deciphering the Signal 5. Frenzy 6. Optimus 7. Bumblebee 8. Soccent Attack 9. Sam at the Lake 10. Skorpinok 11. Cybertron 12. Arrival to Earth 13. Whitwicky 14. Downtown Battle 15. Sector 7 16. Bumblebee Captured 17. You're a Soldier Now 18. Sam on the Roof 19. Optimus vs. Megatron 20. No Sacrifice, No Victory The score is in the Hans Zimmer Media Ventures style and comparable to the Pirates of the Carribean soundtracks. I have to admit I didn't really like it at first listen in the movie, but after seeing the movie 2 times and hearing this cd again, it's actually pretty good. The cd is just very long and I thought it was a bit overwhelming at first listen. But there are some great pieces there and as an album it works. Before this cd came out, there was a promo cd available, about 10 tracks and a different sleeve. Here's the cover of that one; ![]() Here is another cover (Kindly send to me by james) ![]() Here are some pictures of another promo. This actually is the (nearly impossible to find) promotional 2cd version with the complete score (!) on it. For the people who don't own this, the officially released cd is a very representable cd of the score , to my opinion, it's also more listenable than the complete score. ![]() This is what's on it; 01. I'm glad transfan James send me an e-mail to explain some things about all these versions floating around. I want to thank him for this and will quote his letter right here... As for the 52 track promo CD, the second cover is NOT a fan cover. It's actually a different disc! I'd call it the first bootleg of the TF score (there are also more than 52 tracks listed on it). It's similar to the TF:TM bootleg you have listed on the other page - looks nice, but is really a copy. You can tell because the track names are different from the 52 track version. The first track of the 52 track promo is listed as "Soldiers Arrive", while on the bootleg, it's "Autobots" followed by "Qatar" and then "Soldiers Arrive". If I had to take my bets, the bootleg is a combination of the 52 track complete score plus the official score release CD. (I see that CD set all the time on eBay - it's not real - the seller tells me it's copies on CD-R, and not original. It can go anywhere for $15 to $25. The seller, looking at his other auctions, sells a lot of these copied bootlegs.) The picture quality is bad because those CD inserts were probably hand made (quite nice, I admit), but not professionally done since the logo etc are cut off. In fact, the bootleg appears to have another cover as well - I see the other version on eBay quite regularly, by the same seller. Neither are the official promos that are circulated around. Just to recap, there are 4 different score CDs. 1) The 10 track early promo version, which probably came with different covers - the one you have, and one I attached. 2) The official soundtrack score. 3) The 52-track complete score 4) The bootleg, which one shouldn't pay more than $20 since the seller sells it quite often, which is the "fan cover" that you mention. This CD is a combination of the official score and the 52 track score (you can make out the track listings in the image, through the low quality of the eBay picture).
